Summer Friends Day Camp

Campers

A five week summer program where 1st to 8th grade campers participate in fun and engaging activities that help them to grow together and form healthy relationships with peers and older youth mentors. Middle school youth are empowered to become leaders of their own groups through planning, decision-making, leading activities, and mentoring of younger campers through big sister/brother activities.

Structured activities include, crafts, structured recreation, trips, academic enrichment, physical fitness, computer learning and more!

Mentors

High school and college-age volunteer Mentors are challenged to build mentoring relationships with campers and create opportunities for them to develop meaningful friendships with their peers. Mentors participate in ongoing training and collaborate with staff and peers to plan and facilitate meaningful and engaging activities for their assigned group. Through the experience, Mentors gain confidence in themselves, experience as leaders, great memories that will last a lifetime, positive experiences as role models, a sense of responsibility, new and meaningful friendships, a feeling of accomplishment, a volunteer experience they can be proud of, and a chance of earning over 200 hours of community service.
